About

I began my legal career in 2008 where I graduated in the top 25% of my class at Texas Wesleyan University. I was a title compliance officer until 2010 with Fidelity National Agency Solutions. I handled national title underwriting, claims management, and compliance for Fidelity’s national arm of title insurance. I transitioned to Bell & Bowes where I was a fee attorney and conducted residential real estate closings. I also handled a large number of title claim litigation during the mortgage crisis until 2012. I then transition to G. Patrick Collins handling insurance defense claims for Allstate. Allstate is where I developed my love for and skill during trials. I handled trial cases for all state and tried 25 first chair civil jury cases. Allstate is where I learned the art of trial and mastered my skills in the courtroom. I tried 25 cases as first chair with the most trials, most wins, and most plaintiff take nothing verdicts in the state. I then moved to The Law office of James Vasilas in 2016. I focused on representing undocumented clients with criminal cases. Here is where I truly moved into my love of the courtroom. I also developed my skills in trial focusing on serious felonies such as murder, Aggravated sexual assault of a child, Indecency with a child, Continuous Sexual assault of a child, and a myriad of Domestic violence cases. I have tried more than 30 felony trials as first chair and this is where I developed my passion for Child Abuse Trials. I realized that the law is stacked so much in favor of the complaining witness and most lawyers won’t even take these cases because of that. I do love a challenge and realized that someone accused of this crime has no one in the world to fight for them. While this crime is horrific being falsely accused with the evidence stacked against you is also horrific.
